1. Reuse or Recycle?:  Read each example and decide if it is a way to reuse or recycle.  
Circle the correct answer.

2. Brainstorming:  Brainstorm ways your school can reduce, reuse, or recucle in different
areas such as the classroom, lunchroom, media center and office.  Write your ideas
down on the picture.  When you have finished, pick one idea and create a poster to
encourage others to reduce, reuse or recycle.

3. Reduce, Reuse or Recycle Definition Puzzles:  Put together each two piece puzzle to
match the correct definition to the word.

4. Creative Writing:  You are the mayor of a small town that has no more room in it's
landfill.  Write what you would ask the townspeople to do to help fix this problem.

5. The Recycling Process:  Put the four cards in order to show the sequence of the
recycling process

6. Recycle Sort:  Sort out the recyclable items into their correct bins.

7. Haiku:  A haiku is a short Japanese poem.  The poem has three lines.  The first line
has five syllables, the second line has seven syllables and third line has five syllables.  
Most haikus are about something in nature and do not rhyme.  Read the example and
then try writing your own haiku about recycling.

8. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle Addition Game:  Roll the two dice.  Add the number
together and move that number of spaces.  Follow any directions written on the space.  
The first to get to "end" wins the round.

9. Problem and Solution:  Match each problem card with the card that has a possible
solution.

10. What's in the Landfill?  Use the information about what is found in the landfill to
answer the questions.
