Marvelous Mexico
It's time to head south of the border!  Have fun with
these hands-on cross-curricular activities that explore the
country of Mexico!


1. No Bones About It: Label the skeleton using the words
in the word box (uses everyday words--finger, hand,
head, leg, shoulder, etc.)

2. Day of the Dead Skeleton Race: Students race each
other to put together their skeleton (14 pieces)

3. Mexican Holidays: Match together the cards with the
name and picture of a Mexican holiday to the card with
it's date and description. (Day of the Dead, Cinco de
Mayo, Three Kings Day, Navidad, Las Posadas, Mexican
Independence Day)

4. What's To See in Mexico: Sort out the picture cards
onto the sorting mat according to whether each shows a
person, place or thing/object you would see in Mexico.

5. Meet Carmelita: Read the short story about a girl who
lives in Monterrey, Mexico and shares some information
about her country.

6. Comprende?: After reading Carmelita's information,
read each question on the cactus and place the
sombrero with the correct answer on top of the cactus.

7. Object Count: Count the Mexican themed items in
each box on the page. Place the Spanish numeral card
with the correct number on each square.

8. Map of Mexico: Use the map of Mexico to answer the
questions about it's cities, oceans, borders, etc.

9. ABC Order Cities: Put the cards with the names of 12
major Mexican cities in alphabetical order.

10.  Activity Letter:  Explains how to do each activity.
