of the curriculum. Activities are printed on quality card stock, laminated
in 3 mil. film for extra durability and everything is already cut out for you.
INCLUDED:
1. Adorable Hand-Painted Canvas Bag
2. My Underwater Habitat: Use the water color paints to paint the
manatee's underwater habitat. When you've finished painting, color the
manatee below, cut it out, and glue it into it's habitat. (includes a new set
of watercolor paints)
3. Ordinal Numbers: Lay out the ordinal number cards in the correct
order. Match the ordinal number word cards to their ordinal numbers.
4. Manatee Months: Use the ordinal number cards from above activity
and the months of the year cards. Match the months of the year to the
correct ordinal number (ie: 1st=January)
5. Protect Me: Many manatees are hurt or killed by boat propellers as
the boats race through the waters where the manatees live. Design a
sign telling boaters to slow down and watch out for the manatees.
6. The Manatee Minute: Manatees can hold their breath for three to five
minutes. How long can you hold your breath? Using a watch with a
second hand or a stop watch, take a deep breath and time how long you
can hold it. Record how many seconds you were able to hold it. Do this
five times and then answer the questions.
7. Fact or Opinion: Read the statements on the fact /opinion cards.
Decide whether the statement is a fact or an opinion and place on the
correct side of the sorting mat.
8. Creative Writing: Pretend you are the boy from the story and you are
spending the day with the manatees. Write about how you would spend
the day.
9. Manat-ee Long or Short: Add the letter tiles "ee" to make the long /e/
words or "e" to make the short /e/ words.
10. Create a Sentence: Roll the two cubes. (One cube has adjectives
which are describing words and one has verbs which are action words.)
Place the words you rolled on the correct line in each sentence to make a
new sentence
11. Parent Letter explaining how to do the activities
