| This is another wonderful story from the great author, storyteller and actor, John Lithgow. Kids will love meeting Mahalia Mouse and following her on her academic career. Inside the hand-painted bag, you will find 8 original, teacher-created activities from different areas of the curriculum. 1. Story Sequencing: Put the strips in the correct order to retell the story. 2. College Compound Words: Match together the two words that form a school related compound word. 3. Back to School Initial Sound Board Game: Place all the cards picture side up. Roll the die and pick the top card. Name the letter heard at the beginning of the picture. Check your answer using the back of the card. If you are correct, move the number of spaces you rolled. If not, stay where you are. Pass the die to the next player. Play continues until a person reaches the box marked *END* 4. The Cost of College: Use the play money to count out the amount needed to pay for each of the school supplies listed. 5. Book Stacks: Add the three numbers written on each book stack and write the sum on the bottom book. 6. Rhyme Time: Many times words that rhyme are spelled very differently.
