The Magic Tree House: Twister on Tuesday
|
Children love following Jack and Annie's adventures in the Magic Treehouse and this
title is no exception. The activities in this bag were created to accompany the Magic
Treehouse title TWISTER ON TUESDAY. All activities are printed on card stock,
laminated in three mil thick laminating film, cut and ready to use. This bag also contains
a tornado tube so students can observe a "tornado" in a bottle. The bag color itself may
vary from the picture, but it will be on a dark color bag (black, olive green, purple or dark
blue).
1. Story Sequencing Cards--Put the ten cards in order to retell the story of
Twister on Tuesday.
2. Vocabulary Matching--Match together the words with their definitions.
3. Word Problems--Use addition and subtraction to solve the tornado themed
word problems and choose the correct answer from the multiple choice format.
4. Tornado Alley--Find the states located in Tornado Alley as well as the states
that commonly experience tornadoes but are not in Tornado Alley.
5. Singular or Plural--Read the word in each twister square and circle "singular"
if it is in the singular form or "plural" if it is in the plural form. For added practice
you can write the word in the opposite form than it is given. (ie: If the word is
"potato", the student would circle "singular" and write the plural form,
"potatoes" under or above the picture.)
6. Tornado Fact Sheet and information sheet--Read facts about tornadoes and
how they are formed.
7. Tornado Tube--Use the new tornado tube to create a tornado in a bottle by
following the directions on the package.
8. Activity Letter--Explains how to do each activity.
