Afternoon on the Amazon
Jack and Annie are off on another adventure (this time to a rainforest) in The Magic Tree
House: Afternoon on the Amazon,  Students will enjoy learning about this amazing
ecosystem as they follow Jack and Annie on a exciting trip through the rainforest.  The
hand-painted bag features a toucan.  Inside, you will find eight fun, teacher-created
educational activities.  All activities are printed on cardstock, laminated in the three mil
thick laminating pouches, cut out and ready to go.

2. Story Sequencing Strips for Afternoon on the Amazon Students place the eight
laminated strips in the correct story order

3. Amazonian Edibles ABC Order
Students put the cards featuring the names of foods found in the rainforest in ABC order

4. Spice it Up!
Students try to identify the spices we get from the rainforest by using their nose. Includes
five canisters with different spices from the rainforest and a wipe off workmat.

5. Rubber or Not
Students determine whether the pictures of items are made of rubber (which is a
rainforest product) or not and places them on the correct part of the work mat.

6. Layers of the Rainforest
Students match the pictures of the rainforest layers with their name and description card.

7. Crossword Puzzle
Students solve the teacher-made crossword by correctly answering questions about the
rainforest. (includes answer key)

8. Something to Shake a Stick At
Students follow the directions to make their own rainstick using materials found in the
home. Easy to do and a fun product!

9. Rainforest Recipe Writing
Students create their own rainforest recipe using at least four ingredients found in the
rainforest. (Students can use the foods from the ABC order cards and spice list.)

10.  Activity Letter
Explains how to do each activity
