The activities in this cute literacy bag are teacher-created and can be used
to extend the titles form the Little Bear series. All activities are printed on
cardstock, laminated and cut out. Included:
1. Hand-painted canvas bag featuring a picture of Little Bear
2. Birthday Soup Story Sequence: Put the events from Birthday Soup in the
correct order.
3. What Will Little Bear Wear? Sort out the clothes onto the correct place of
the sort mat to show whether they would be worn when it is sunny, rainy or
snowy.
4. Little Bear Goes to the Moon: Roll the dice. Move to the next space on
the game board that shows that number. The first person to get Little Bear
to the moon wins.
5. Little Bear's Wish--Your Wish: If you could be granted one wish, what
would you wish for?
6. Little Bear's Birthday Soup Glyph: Use the picture of the soup pot and
the vegetable pictures along with the glyph directions to create your own
unique birthday soup glyph.
7. Name the Vowel: Say the name of each picture from the Little Bear
stories. If you hear a long vowel in the word, circle the word "long". If you
hear a short vowel, circle the word "short". Finally, write the missing vowel
on the blank line in the word.
8. Favorite Soup Graph: Ask ten people which of the soups listed is their
favorite. Graph the answers.
9. Character Match: Match the pictures of the characters from the Little
Bear stories to their names.
10. Little Bear Mask: Color and cut out your own Little Bear Mask.
