This LET IT SNOW themed literacy bag full of educational activities. The nine
winter themed learning activities are sure to warm the hearts of students. As
always, activities are teacher-created, printed on cardstock and laminated
for durability.
Activities:
1. Story sequencing cards--sequence the cards to show the steps in building
a snowman. Write a sentence underneath to explain the steps.
2. Snowflake Haiku--Read the Snowflake Haiku. Try writing your own haiku.

3. Snowman Compound Words--Find the two snowmen with the word parts
to form a compound word and match it with the picture of that compound
word (7 compound word pairs and pictures)
4. Snowy Story Problems--Solve the word problems on the story problem
page. Read each problem carefully to decide whether you should add or
subtract.
5. Number snowmen (45 cards)--Play a game with the number snowmen.
They can be used for number sequencing, even or odd number
identification, a comparing card game (similar to the card game "War"--the
person with the highest number gets the card and the person with the most
cards wins), or to make addition or subtraction sentences. (You can choose
the numbers or number range)
6. Snow person Glyph--Follow the instructions to create your own unique
snow person.
7. Winter Clothes Graph--Count how many there are of each piece of winter
clothing and graph the results on the bar graph.
8. Mitten Glyph--Follow the instructions to make your own unique mitten.
