

This is a wonderful literacy bag based on the classic story by Margaret Wise Brown,
GOODNIGHT MOON. Inside the large, hand-painted canvas bag, you will find NINE,
TEACHER-CREATED EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES, DISCUSSION QUESTIONS FOR
PARENTS and an ACTIVITY LETTER letter explaining how to do the activities.
Included:
1. Hand-painted canvas bag featuring a glow in the dark moon (bag colors will vary
between black, aqua, blue and purple)
2. Upper- and Lowercase Letter Matching: Students match the uppercase letter night
sky cards to their lowercase letter pillow partners
3. Object Count & Number Matching: Students count the stars on each card and
match them to the correct number card
4. Color & Color Word Matching: Students match each colored picture to its correct
color word (the word is in the matching color as well)
5. Brush Your Teeth Sequencing: Students sequence the steps followed when
brushing their teeth (shown in words and pictures)
6. Daytime or Nighttime: Students decide if each activity shown in the pictures is
done during the day (circle the sun), night (circle the moon) or both (circle the star)
7. Shadow Matching: Students match each object card to its correct shadow on the
mat
8. Rhyming Pictures: Students draw a line to connect together each pair of rhyming
pictures (objects from the story Goodnight Moon are used)
9. Sun & Moon Memory Game: Students play a memory game using game cards
featuring variations of the sun and moon
10. My Goodnight Book Reproducible: Each student can create their own Goodnight
Book by writing and drawing the people and objects important to them. The
reproducible include a title page that says ________’s Goodnight Book with a moon
and stars, and three pages with the text Goodnight _________. (The text on the page
