| HOORAY FOR SNOWY DAYS! This ACTIVITIES CD-ROM was created to extend Ezra Jack Keat's THE SNOWY DAY. The cd-rom contains 19 different teacher-created activities from various areas of the curriculum that are based around a snow theme and The Snowy Day. All activities are in PDF format (30 files) and are ready for you to print out and use in centers, small groups, large groups or take home bags. In addition to the 19 activities described below, the cd-rom also has a full color binder cover and activity letter which explains how to do each activity. The only items needed that aren't included are two dice: one labeled 1-6 and the other A-F for the Capture the Snowman coordinates game. CD-ROM has an illustrated label and is shipped in a jewel case. 1. The Snowy Day story sequencing strips (10 sequencing strips featuring a picture of Peter in his snowsuit) 2. Tracks in the Snow (follow the tracks in the snow to see what made them 6. Snowman Compound Words (Match together the two snowman that make a compound word) 7. The Great Snowball Experiment (A science observation activity) 9. Snowman Addition (Single digit addition problems) 10. Capture the Snowman (a coordinates activity—you will need to create two dice: one numbered 1-6 and one labeled A-F) 11. A Snow Haiku (includes a sample and line by line directions to write your own) 12. Word Family Snowballs (create words in the –ow /long o/ family and the –all family 13. Snowflake Symmetry (draw a line of symmetry on the snowflakes) 14. The Snowy Day Cause and Effect Matching (draw a line to match each cause from the story to it’s effect) 15. What to Wear in the Snow Graph (Count the number of each of the snowy weather clothing types and then graph the answers on the bar graph) 16. Letter Sequencing Snowmen (Write the missing letter in each snowman group to complete the alphabet sequence) 17. Snowy Day Patterns (Complete each pattern by adding the correct cut out) 18. Opposite Words and Pictures (Set of four pairs of word cards and four pairs of picture cards. Students can match together just the word card opposite pairs, just the picture card opposite pairs or match both the word and picture card sets together.) 19.
