BUTTONS
A Math Bag
The BUTTONS bag is a great bag to use to provide extra practice in math skills.  It
goes wonderfully with the books Grandma's Button Box, The Button Box or even
Corduroy.  Inside the colorful, hand-painted bag, you'll find 9 educational activities
(and necessary manipulatives).  The activities are printed in color on quality
cardstock, lamainated in three mil. laminating pouches, cut out and ready to use.

1. Button Patterns: Use the real buttons to finish each pattern.

2. Create-a-pattern: Use the buttons to create your own pattern. See if you can make
a pattern using size or the number of holes in the buttons.

3. Button Venn Diagram: Sort out the buttons using the Venn Digram.

4. Button Addition: Sort out the bag of little buttons by color. Then count how many
you have of each color. Use the information to complete addition problems.

5. Fact Families: Finish the addition or subtraction problem on each fact family card
and then sort out them onto their correct buttons on the mats.

6. Number Sequence: Put the teddy bear cut outs in order from 10-20.

7. Button Count: Turn over the numbered teddy bears. Pick one from the pile and
put the correct number of buttons to match the number.

8. Button Color Graph: After sorting out the buttons by color, complete the graph to
show how many of each color you have.

9. Button Comparison: Use the information from the button graph to compare the
number of buttons for the different colors.

10.  Activity Letter:  Explaining how to do each activity.
