AMELIA BEDELIA
This great literacy bag features that kind-heart but confused character Amelia
Bedelia.  I haven't met a kid yet who doesn't love the stories of her mixed up
attempts to help others.  Inside the hand-painted bag, you'll find eight
educational activities from different areas of the curriculum.  Activities are
printed on cardstock, laminated in three mil thick laminating film, cut out and
ready to go.  Included:

1.  Hand-painted canvas bag featuring Amelia Bedelia

2.  Amelia Bedelia is a Good Egg:  In the thought bubble over Amelia Bedelia's
head, draw a picture  of what you think she's thinking when she hears "Amelia
Bedelia is a good egg."

3.  Homophones: Homophones are words that sound alike but are different in
meaning and spelling.  Match together each picture with its correct
homophone.

4.  Pick a Pie:  Sort out the pie cards according to their type (cherry, pumpkin,
lemon meringue or apple) then complete the graph showing how many you
have of each type.

5.  Pie Patterns:  Create different patterns using the pie cutouts.

6.  The Long and Short of It:  Say the name of each picture below.  Decide if
you hear a long or short vowel in the word.  Circle the correct answer.

7.  Help Amelia Get it Right:  Amelia Bedelia does everything exactly as it is
worded---and she usually ends up doing it all wrong.  Rewrite the tasks below
to help Amelia get it right the first time.  Be as specific as possible.

8.  Amelia's List:  Commas are used to separate three or more items in a list.
This helps make the sentence easier to read.  You do not put a comma after
the last item. (So if there are three items in the list, you would have two
commas.  If there are five items in the list, you would have four commas.  Put
the commas where they belong in each sentence.   The first one is done for
you.

9.  Homonyms--Nouns or Verbs: Read each sentence.  The underlined word is
a homonym.  Homonyms are words that are spelled the same but have
different meanings.  Decide if the underlined homonym is being used as a
noun or verb.  Write your answer on the line.

10.  Activity Letter:  Explains how to do each activity
