This is a great literacy bag focusing on the continent of Africa. Included in the
hand-painted canvas bag, you will find ELEVEN EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES
from various areas of the curriculum. Activities are printed on cardstock and
laminated in 3 mil. laminating film for extra durability. A great book for this
bag was actually written by a fourth grade class in Denton,Texas. The book is
titled MORE THAN A MVULE TREE. Ms. Natalie Mead's class wrote, illustrated
and published the book. The book sells for $10. All monies will be used to
purchase Mvule trees to be planted in Uganda and maintained by Ugandan
children to fund education thru the Kibo Group (http://www.kibogroup.org).

1. ABC Order of African Countries --I did three sets of five so each set can be
used individually for an easier level or combined to make it more challenging.
Each set has a different color Africa picture on it.
2. The Lay of the Land--Students use the geographic map of Africa to find the
answers to the question cards and then match them to the correct answer card
3. African Animal BINGO game (2 cards for each bag and the caller cards)
4. The Great Kapok Tree and More than Just a Mvule Tree venn diagram

7. Flags of Africa--Students change out the attribute cards for the Venn
Diagram and sort the 50+ flags of African nations according to different

found in Africa and use the descriptions to draw one
